Anyone heading out with Seasport this Easter monday?

Haven't heard many reports up that way lately .

Will be heading up on Monday (25/4/11), armed with jigs/plastics.

Hard work today.

My second trip to Jurien Bay and once again Whitey didn't disappoint. The fish weren't that hungry for jigs today but it was still fun trying.

I was fortunate to land the only Dhuie for the trip on a CB One jig, which also produced an undersized snapper later in the day. Everywhere we went we kept on encountering snapper, and they weren't that keen on jigs. Whitey suggested I try a pirate jig and it wasn't long before I hooked something decent which busted me off. I closed the account with a decent snapper on a mcarthy 11inch mamba.

CB One Zero 130g orange/red, Ripplefisher 575, Shimano Stella 8000sw-pg

Mcarthy 11" Mamba Pink/pearl + 2oz TT 9/0XH jig head, Yamaga Blue Sniper 70/4, Shimano Stella 5000sw

A big thanks to Nick Hocking for taking the photos.

Thanks guys.

Ricey have you been out since I last saw you? I bought the gear recently and was dying to catch something on it. I had been out a few times metro without success and when the opportunity arose to get up to Jurien (after sending the wife and toddler to Melbourne for a holiday) I knew I had to make the most of it.

Hookt: yeah, with a $10 jig

Tue, 2011-04-26 12:08

Hookt: yeah, with a $10 jig head and a $10 soft plastic it ends up around the price of a jig but isn't as durable.

Ricey: sure mate. Always tricky planning fishing trips around a young family, weather, work etc! I still want to crack a 10kg+ Dhu on a jig.
