Worked well for me up there out of the yak on a lot of unseens, my demise was not being able to put the brakes on at close quaters too the reef, but at least the Gillies jigs come standard with heavy duty assists & in weights upto 300 grams.
Keep posted for the new Shimano "Lucanus" Jigs coming out soon, they really look the business and come in weights upto 200 grams, also with heavy duty hardware and replacement skirts.
will have a tender to use in the shallows but if its rough will have to stay with the boys drifting.. really keen to see those big trout ive been told about!!!! last year we fished between 25 and 60 metres. so far i have some sea rock 90gm and 120gm as well as a bunch of knife jigs i use for sambos here in the homeland!

Ive fished there but not
Ive fished there but not really jigged. Most of the ground is quite shallow so nothing much iver 120gms will be needed. But Lock upo and hang on.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Jigged around Wreck Point
Deep water out there and nailed a pinky or two but you need to have good weather.
