4WD Insurance

Just contacted the RAC, whom I have had my cars insured by for the last 10 years, to find out if my 4WD is insured whilst off road. I have had 2 minorly hairy moments in it off road and wanted to make sure I was covered. I was surprised to find out that I was not covered at all, and after ringing a few other companies found them to be a bit dearer, but the cover included off road. I will have to change my insurance before the next off road trip. I was quite surprised and reckon that I am as likely to have an off road accident as i am to have an on the road accident, and will get better insurance value from else where.

Also your cover should cover you if you are on a gazzetted road even if it's a goat track marked on a map , it's still marked on a map so you are allowed to drive along it .
