Great Vid

Andy
Must say its a great vid , however without being critical on style or getting personal, the big fella in the black appears to let his rod almost straighten a few times there while he looks at the camera . Gotta be able to fish and smile at the same time I reckon otherwise you end up with lots of vid of yourself dropping fish

I'll tell him that!

He doesn't cop criticism well our Tone, but I'll watch the footage again and give him a hard time if that's the case. I must say though the man knows how to fish and has pulled in some stonkers on the boat. I christened him the "Golden Deckie" as whenever he comes out with me we both clean up on big fish. (Have you seen the 21.5kg Dhuie he pulled in on the first vid? The bastar@ still holds the boat record for a single dhufish, though I clearly out gun him in total kilo's, probably only because I fish more than he does, but that doesn't matter.)

He always was a bit of a camera hog, so give him a big serve if I see any more lapses of concentration in the future.(Hehehe)

Cheers

A bit harsh I reckon.

Just had another more critical look at the vid and can't find too much wrong with Tony's rod work there. I think we have all been guilty in winding down a bit slowly and not maintaining a solid arc in the rod. The little Penn he was using has a low retrieve rate and I can understand how difficult it is to stay connected.

Having said that, I'll still give him heaps next time I see him. But before I do, I'll take another look at my own rod action in series 5, 6 and 7, which may be online soon.

Mindarie Ramp

Mitch,

The ramp was closed for about 3 months with the developers merely redoing the carpark and approach to the ramp. The actual ramp is still pretty poor, with the jetty in a very bad state of direpair. Apparently the developers were not required to fix the jetty.

The car park is excellent and the approach is good, but the way they have set up the launch and retreive lanes is a bit askew. There are two launch and two retrieve lanes but you have to back down on an angle to get in (ie don't line up).

I've never heard of a quinns ramp, so I don't know if it exists or not.

Cheers
