if you take it down to taylor marine they will fix them up and service the unit.I will take mine down again soon the trick is to let the decky take the unit off the boat then blame them lol just be careful not to push the plugs on without lining them up properly as you can bend the pins which make the repair a bit more urgent. They are a very good unit once you work them out though hey.
dont screw onto much of the plug on the unit so all it takes is to turn the unit a bit to far to undo the connection and they crack after they crack if you are careful you can get a bit longer out of them.On the new boat i undo the plugs before i turn the unit on the old one i had no option.
There is one way around the cracked plug problem, what is wrong with putting an old towel over the plugs, stop them going brittle. Just like humans, we go brittle if left out in the sun and age like a plug. The towel might not look all that co-ordinated, but they are cheaper, than having the plugs replaced.

My unit has done the same thing ,must be a common thing ,I guess the sun would make them brittle over time.
