Cobia on a Jig

Not the biggest but great eating at this size.. Crappy weather today and shit fishing. Did alot of popping and jigging for sweet FA, blanked out for about the 4th or 5th time in a row on the GTs at spots that I haven't managed a fish on since Kasey was here in March...

It's the second one I've got on a jig now, this guy had atleast 20 of his mates follow him up, some of which looked like they were pushing 20kg.
Couldn't be bothered with the bills... was too far out of our way to cruise over there in crappy conditions.

yeah we headed fairly wide
yeah we headed fairly wide but different direction to where all the billies have been so it would have been a bit of a mission to cruise all the way over there in less than ideal conditions...
plenty of whales where we were too... saw them kicking around in 8m of water right near the islands.. get annoying after a while - they're always getting in our way.
