I have eaten chilli stingray at a place called Newton Circus in Singapore. Rated it pretty highly at the time, may have been the dozen beers I had before though........
last time me and andrew went to yacht club jetty in rocko there was three blokes who kept a stingray they rated it very highly aswell, maybe its just how you cook it?
I suppose if you cook anything thing with enough chilli and garlic you could it it.Have heard some blokes use a punch and then grill them on a BBQ never tried so would not know and its not on the to do list
yeah the small ones are nice especially blue spots just lots of cleaning, soaking em overnight helps to. only kept one once when didnt catch anything else
I was asked to spend a week with some local elders when i was up at cape laveque near broome and watched day after day how they would spear the small ones in the shallows and place them straight onto a fire to cook. After a while i disided to try it out and it was absolutly beautiful but wouldnt try it again. Only due to cruelty and there is still fish to be caught!lol. Ones that size i have heard are tough but hey im no cheif. One thing i noticed is that there tails are cut off, be safe there hey, crikey i would! hehehe
Skate is a type of ray and is very popular and expensive in the UK and Europe. The flesh has a different texture to most fish, and along with it's appearance can put people off. Treat the cartlige that runs through each wing the same as a normal fishes backbone, then filleting is quite simple. The grain of the flesh runs opposite to most fish, which can make it appear stringy. However, if prepared with care, it is an interesting and tasty option. Stir fried sting ray with baby vegetables and chilli jam......yee haa

Three days without it and I get a little jumpy
