Hi folks, new to here and to the swan river. Been fishing bath street in Maylands and getting lots of small bream, but am keen for a swan flathead. No boat but any hot spots would be awesome. Thanks in advance

Beware the blowies
I had accidental joy at Claremont Jetty with flathead while chasing tailor (got lazy retrieving a metal twisty, stopped winding mid way for a reach into the esky, one jumped on, changed retrieve, more flatties followed) and reading posts here and other reports, it's a great place for flathead both from the jetty and walking/ wading the shore.
However THE BLOWIES ARE BASTARDS! When I snagged the flathead, I went straight to the soft plastics, chasing more. Five casts, each one only retrieving the jig heads. Kids next to me dropping crab nets were pulling easily 15 - 20 blowies in each. The metal twisty produced a few more flatties and no blowies. Also the jetty produced alot of cute girls from boats tying up to take a run for more alcohol (a warm Saturday afternoon, God bless Perth) and very few of them were "flatties". Good luck man.

I go to claremont tons and
I go to claremont tons and fish you should go there using hardbodies like the ecogear sx 40,43 I find they work great. I have also had lots of luck using the Z man grubz soft plastics, they work great because they are blowie proof!
