Reel suggestions

Hi guys
Im looking at buying a new reel for the big rod but i also wanted to use something interchangedly with a beach rod, at the moment i have an Okuma salina(? looks similiar to that model) with a pretty large line capacity (500 yards i think) that has pretty much died of late, so was looking to replace it with something along the same lines, not really interested in overhead reels as im mainly landbased at the moment and the problems i have had with overheads arent worth the hassle. Also looking at getting a decent beach rod so any recommendations would be great as well.
Cheers

Rod & Reel!
Reels, look at the many Banax models, Spheros, Daiwa and Fin-nor!
Rods, many to chose from but the new Okuma rods are very nice indeed!

Yep, there are so many options
It realy depends on what size gear you would like to use and how much you would like to spend.
The Daiwa Heartlands are a very nice beach rod at 12 foot long, which load up fantasically well when casting and can handle fairly sizeable fish.
If you prefer something shorter, you could maybe look at the 10 foot Rovex Big Boss rods - a good value rod, or maybe one of the StarloStix spinning rods.
My two favourite beach spinning reels at the moment are the Shimano Stradic FIs and the new Daiwa Saltists. They are mid-range cost reels and can handle being battered around a bit.
I haven't seen the new Banax reels in the flesh, but they look very nice and have pretty good specifications.
