Submitted by kizon on Sun, 2013-01-27 21:29
going for a bream session tomorrow in the upper parts of the swan river near belmont, going to use lures only as i normally do but am going to try some small stick baits any thoughts?? everytime i use them i dont get anything so i normally end up switching back to hardbodied divers. may even consider bringing the good old fly rod and having a couple of casts.
please share opinions and thoughts
( BTW i am not new to bream fishing as i have been at it for over 5 years now)

Stickbaits
Mate for topwater fishing you need to be either fishing at the crack of dawn or early evening . Get the stickbait working and then pause then repeat .Target areas with a depth of a couple of feet. Good luck!

cheers
yeh i normally fish around 7 in the morning
i get my fare share of bream (12 black bream plus two flatties) in a 2-3 hour seshion i just always wanted to see them smash the lure on the surface as apposed to just fealing the hit.
