Last nights attempt for a Snapper
Submitted by Grooveepants on Thu, 2010-07-15 09:14
Had a crappy day at work yesterday so decided to go out and give the snapper a try.
Left Woodmans Point at 5:30pm and headed out to a spot at the back of Carnac. The weather was perfect, no wind and the swell was minimal. To cut a long story short (4 hours of fishing), we caught two Dhu fish, one at 60cm and the other at 70cm (15lb on the Boga's).
No Snapper but still not bad for an evening of metro fishing.

Whiting rod
It was a good effort on Robs behalf as the big one was caught on a $20 rod/reel combo I use for whiting and squid. This is because the rod he was using snapped when trying to get unsnagged off the reef. The rod must have had a fracture in it. Good job Dhuies don't put up much of a fight.
