possibly a silly question but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm planning on putting a burley bucket on the hornet but am unsure as to where to fit it
do they go above or below the waterline ??
whats best fixed or removable ?
any advise would be appreciated before i start drilling
cheers

berley!
Depending on what type you get, most are normally half in/half out but above the planning hull obviously. The water lapping & boat pitching will give the berley flow. Fixed is good if you berley all the time or detachable for every so often!

i use lots of burley so i guess fixed will be fine.
are you saying that as long as its not protruding below the bottom of the boat but is in the water its ok ?

yep!
Spot on, you want the berley bucket away from the plaining/hull aspect. The transom sits low in the water at "rest"so the berley will flow!

are you thinking
like a burley bucket on the marlin board? kinda like this so you can pull it out or leave it in:
kinda like a colander with holes in the bottom to allow the burley to lap out slowly.
