Has there been a better brain fade in sport then rossi kicking marquez off his bike, f...... extordinary, has to start from the back of the grid for what I think is the final race

ahahhaah old rossy, it all
ahahhaah old rossy, it all started at phillip island.
rossy believes marquez is trying to help lorrenzo win the championship by interfeering with him on track.
not sure if you watched the race but to me it looked like marquez was trying to slow rossy early on,
kinda hope he gets his 10th championship but will be hard from the back of the pack

Yeah thats what he thinks
And he did appear to be slowing him down. I would love to see him win his tenth title

Just got back on the weekend
Just got back on the weekend from going over to Phillip Island- long drive/ride for WA enthusiast. But worth it- Bloody great race at Phillip Island.
It's hard to describe watching the speed(340k's) down the main straight, and when the rider lifts his head above the cowling for the corner, and the front wheel lifts, before they lean over for corner.
They earn every dollar they are paid- balls of steel I reckon.

he was going on about marquez hassling out Valentino trying to slow him down and Valentino kicking him of the bike, but he thinks it was impossible and the guy took a dive.

Rossi
First of Rossi did not kick Marquez of his bike if you watch most of the camera angles and particularly the overhead shot he swung his knee out to keep distance , big difference to kicking him off his bike .
Secondly marquez was on the outside line of Rossi behind his centerline already mid corner so would not have had enough speed to overtake and make the pass . If Marquez had any sportsmanship he could have slowed up stood the bike up and more than likely made that turn or just run off , there was full concrete run off areas . Marquez turned into him .

Maybe you should watch it
Maybe you should watch it again. Rossi very clearly ran way out wide on purpose carting Marquez wide. Neither of them were remotely close to the racing line. I doubt Rossi intended Marquez to fall but there's no doubt in anybodys mind that Rossi deliberately slowed & ran Marquez wide. Even Rossi's own team boss (Lyn Jarvis) said Rossi's actions were "indefensible" & "not the sort of thing we want to see in MotoGP". In fact almost the entire MotoGP paddock has condemned Rossi's actions. I think you were watching the wrong race because what you describe simply didn't happen.

Agree
Yes I agree that Rossi slowed up in the corner to run Marquez wide , very obvious but I still don't see why Marquez didn't avoid the crash . I also agree that it is not the sort of behavior top level riders should be involved in but it does happen . You want to see dodgy passes watch AMA motocross .
What about the contact corners before where Marquez clipped Rossi with Rossi somehow managing to save the front end ??

Rossi has been around for a long time
Rossi has been at this game for a long time and has been a very successful rider, my be time is catching up on him and what was once an unacceptable thing (going wide)now just might be acceptable now that the end of his dominance is in sight.
Or does he dislike Marquez so bad that every thing is on the table, no matter what, it is a tragedy for the sport if such things are allowed to come into it and go unpunished.
Just my view

Not quiet. Rossi has a 7
Not quiet. Rossi has a 7 point lead over Lorenzo. Championship points are allocated as follows:
1st 25 points
2nd 20 points
3rd 16 points
4th 13 points
5th 11 points
6th 10 points
7th 9 points
8th 8 points
9th 7 points
10th 6 points
11th 5 points
12th 4 points
13th 3 points
14th 2 points
15th 1 point
Lorenzo has won more races this season than Rossi so finishing equal on points (Lorenzo wins Rossi finish 9th) would give Lorenzo the championship. If Rossi finishes 8th or better though it doesn't matter if Lorenzo wins, Rossi will still win the championship. Considering the difference in pace between the open class & factory bikes & the fact that Rossi is used to qualifying badly & having to make his way through slower riders, I don't see Rossi having any problems being able to get up to 8th or better. He just has to keep it upright & hope he doesn't get taken out by a slower rider. The championship is alive & well, not over & done like most seem to believe. Hope he makes it number 10.

iam still scratching my head
iam still scratching my head over how you worked this out.
7 point lead requires rossi to finish in a position no greater then 7 points less then lorrenzo. if lorrenzo wins rossi has to finish 2nd

Yep your right Gilly. Sorry my mistake. Should have double checked my maths. Harder to do but still possible if your name is Valentino Rossi.
