Headed out on saturday morning early for a fish.  Headed out behind Carnac and tried fishing the bombies/near the cray pots, tried about 5 different locations between 12-19mts.  Caught heaps of Wrasse/Rock Cod but nothing worth keeping.  Went to a whiting spot closer to Garden Island as a last stop before heading in.  I changed rigs to a running sinker on the main line and couple of longshanks on the mainline.  Got the burley cage out and within 5 mins we were into some skippy.  We caught about 12 in the next 20 mins or so, including two double hookups on my line, but I dropped one of the fish boatside on the first.  I landed the second double header in the boat to find that the strain had turned my leader into a clockspring. Bloody good fun fighting fish on light gear and good to finally catch something worthwhile.  We kept five skippy all around 35cm and chucked back all the others which were between 28-34cm.
