Exmouth Comp 2011 Questions

Didn't want to clog up the FW Exmouth 2011 thread so I was just after some info about the comp?

Looking at possibly heading up that way next year with the family (wife and 4yr old boy and 2yr old boy) and the folks with their boat and maybe some others?  Anyway - I have never been up there but the folks reckon that Coral Bay would be better for the kids than Exmouth.  I was thinking of maybe staying at Coral Bay for a week then Exmouth for a week if we can get accomodation that is?

Where is the best place to stay in Exmouth for access to launching spots, fishing spots, swimming spots etc etc.  And if anyone has any ideas/tips on accomodation at either Coral Bay or Exmouth.  We willl be flying blind on the fishing front too as it will be our first time up there???

Cheers PPLS!

go the coral bay idea, great place for the kids and i feel there is more for them to do. there are 2 caravan parks there but cant remember names, your right accross the road from the beach where the kids can see big spanglies from the shore as they come right up to you. as far as fishing goes its not too hard to find fish , south passage go straight out and look for signs of fish , only need to go roughly 5 or 6 nm out. great place and our next trip up there we will be going to coral bay and only spend a few days in exxy. you wont regret it.  PS if you like your snorkling or diving you will love this place as there is heaps of coral around in the bay. PPS the boat ramp is great and not too far from town at all

If you're looking to rent a house in Coral bay do it now because there usually a big waitng list.

Camping is no problem in either of the parks.
