casting distance

I was just wondering if there was an ideal casting distance when using poppers and metal slices from the rock or is it the further from the rocks the better?
cheers for your input

if you
cast as far as you can youll cover the long distnace plus when you reel in the short distance will be covered

speedo The further you cast the more distance you get
to cover with your lure, but as Russ has suggested, sometimes distance isn't as important as accuracy - as in casting at a fish or casting to a structure.

i think it's more of where
i think it's more of where your casting, you'd be better off ripping a cast parallel to the cost off a point as far as you can then straight out to the deep blue.
